book-coverIn this episode, Steve Lubetkin and I talk about the book we’re writing, The Business of Podcasting. Unlike other podcasting books that delve into the mechanics of creating a podcast, The Business of Podcasting tells you about the business side of the craft: the best business models for making money (realistically!), how to position clients’ expertise through podcasting, how to find clients, legal reviews, IT pushback, and much more.

Do you have a question for Steve and me about the business of podcasting or the book itself? Add a comment here on the blog or use the Speakpipe feature on the right. Or email me at Donna AT trafcom DOT com. Be sure to sign up at the book website so you will be notified when it’s available.

Theme music for Trafcom News Podcast is “Beneath Your Surface” by the Elisabeth Lohninger Quartet from Music Alley.

  1. Thanks for the feedback, Will. Steve and I will be doing another episode together, and we’ll be sure to share more details. I appreciate your taking the time to comment!

  2. Donna,

I loved how you used this episode to present your writing partner and forthcoming book while making it useful to the listener.

The podcast hooked me with your snake oil salesmen argument, however, I wanted to know more about the (money) business models for podcasting that your book presents. Give us a reason to want to learn more (i.e., buy your book). I’m still not sure of the value proposition of your book. I’ll buy it anyway, but I would really like to be excited about it.

    Keep up the great work.

  3. Donna,
Oh my gosh was it great to hear someone speak the truth about podcasting. There are TONS of snake oil salesmen out there, and it was nice to hear someone talk about setting realistic expectations. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to the book. I enjoyed your first one.

  4. Great and informative podcast Donna. I am looking forward to the podcast coaching with you. I know I’m not going to be a millionaire from using this communication tool. Just another avenue for me to share my wealth of career management knowledge.
